Partners & Sponsors

Working towards a common vision

Being a Council that manages a global network of aspirational Malaysians, ICMS actively seeks to grow its network of Partners, Sponsors and Affiliates. These are important long term relationships for ICMS and we strive constantly to maximise the value of the cooperation.

Strategic Partners

Our Strategic Partner is a significant partner which has provided strategic advice towards the development of the Council since the founding of ICMS.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)

There are over 1.7m chartered accountants and students around the world − talented, ethical and committed professionals who use their expertise to ensure we have a successful and sustainable future.

Over 149,000 of these are ICAEW Chartered Accountants. We train, develop and support each one of them so that they have the knowledge and values to help build local and global economies that are sustainable, accountable and fair.

We’ve been at the heart of the accountancy profession since we were founded in 1880 to ensure trust in business. We share our knowledge and insight with governments, regulators and business leaders worldwide as we believe accountancy is a force for positive economic change across the world.

Partners

Our Partners provide financial resources and more – access to professional networks, provision of venues, and thought leadership.

And we want you to be part of it. It’s your opportunity to do something exceptional — something that matters to you, to us, to the world.

Sunway Group

Established in 1974, Sunway Group is one of Malaysia’s largest conglomerates with core interests in property, construction, education and healthcare. We are a 15,000-strong team operating in 50 locations worldwide, working together to improve the quality of life of our communities through 12 business divisions – real estate, construction, retail, hospitality, leisure, healthcare, education, commercial, trading and manufacturing, building materials, quarrying and Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).

Sunway believes that sustainability is the key to building enduring communities. Our unique Build-Own-Operate business model powers the growth of the sustainable integrated townships of Sunway City in Selangor, Sunway City Ipoh and Sunway Iskandar in Johor, which span 5,000 acres.

Our three public-listed companies—Sunway Berhad, Sunway Construction, and Sunway REIT, with a combined market capitalisation of RM 15 billion—form a real-estate value chain that exemplifies socially responsible business practices, evidenced by their listing on the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index.

At Sunway, we are committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and continue to align our business strategies to meet the needs of our communities in line with the SDG agenda. The Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development, established at Sunway University in 2016, serves as a hub for the education and advancement of sustainability across Southeast Asia. The Center is the first of its kind in Asia. Through the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, we provide disadvantaged and deserving young adults access to quality education by disbursing scholarships exceeding RM330 million as of 2017.

We also consider our Environmental, Economic, and Social (EES) impact in our everyday business decisions – from our policies and social initiatives to day-to-day operations – so that we deliver enduring growth for thriving communities. In all that we do, we are driven by our core values of Integrity, Humility, Excellence.

Jeffrey Cheah Foundation

Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (JCF) is founded on the fundamental premise of giving to society, a philosophy that has governed the Sunway Education Trust Fund since its inception in 1997. Through the unique not-for-profit structure of the Foundation, operating surpluses are ploughed back into the institutions or disbursed as scholarships, research grants and expansion of faculty and facilities to ensure quality education in perpetuity.

In 2010, the Sunway Education Trust Fund was officially converted into the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation where the equity of Sunway Education Group’s learning institutions worth more than RM1 billion today was transferred to the Foundation, making it the largest education-focused social enterprise in Malaysia with 16 institutions and entities. Sunway Education Group is owned and governed by the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation with its creed – “Nurturing the seeds of wisdom.”

Jeffrey Cheah Foundation is governed by a distinguished board of 11 trustees with His Royal Highness Sultan of Selangor as its Royal Patron. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Jeffrey Cheah AO is the Founding Trustee of the eponymous foundation.

In fulfilling its commitment towards democratising quality education, the Foundation has also forged academic ties with some of the world’s preeminent institutions including University of Cambridge, Harvard University and University of Oxford, allowing a two-way flow of scholars and researchers between Sunway Education Group and the world-class institutions towards elevating the standards of teaching and research in this part of the world.

The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation has also entered into a partnership with the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), led by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, a world-renowned economist and champion of sustainable development in 2016. The partnership, which constituted a USD $10m endowment, funded the establishment of the Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development at Sunway University in December 2016, the first such centre in Asia. The Center is set to become a regional hub for research and policy practice, creating world-class programmes to train a new generation of students, practitioners and policy leaders; and develop linkages with major Malaysian and international universities in joint problem-solving around the Sustainable Development Goals.

In November 2017, the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation and Sunway Medical Centre signed several agreements with University of Cambridge that mark the 800-year-old world-renowned university’s first such entry into Asia, and the first collaboration of its kind in the world. As part of the collaboration, Sunway Medical Centre will establish the Sunway Clinical Research Centre, which will be a Regional Site Partner of the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine. The agreements include the establishment of a joint-programme between the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine, the Royal Papworth Hospital, Sunway Medical Centre, Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Sunway University. The programme will enable the sharing of academic excellence through regular academic visits and exchanges, and offer scientific and clinical training opportunities at Cambridge for outstanding postgraduates from Sunway.

As of 2017, the Foundation has disbursed in excess of RM330 million in scholarships to thousands of deserving students. The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation Community Scholarship which started in 2002 is also given to deserving youths to support them in taking the pivotal step in transforming their lives for the better.

Sponsors

Sponsors provide financial resources which are vital for the events, recruitment, and development of ICMS.
Platinum Sponsor : Unilever

“On any given day, two billion people use Unilever products to look good, feel good and get more out of life.

With more than 400 brands focused on health and wellbeing, no company touches so many people’s lives in so many ways.

Our portfolio ranges from nutritionally balanced foods to indulgent ice creams, affordable soaps, luxurious shampoos and everyday household care products. We produce world-leading brands including Lipton, Knorr, Dove, Axe, Hellmann’s and Omo, alongside trusted local names such as Blue Band, Pureit and Suave.

For us, sustainability is integral to how we do business. With 7 billion people on our planet, the earth’s resources can be strained. This means sustainable growth is the only acceptable model of growth for our business. The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan sets out to decouple our growth from our environmental impact, while at the same time increasing our positive social impact. Our Plan has three big goals that by 2020 will enable us to:

– Help more than a billion people to improve their health and well-being.

– Halve the environmental footprint of our products.

– Source 100% of our agricultural raw materials sustainably and enhance the livelihoods of people across our value chain.

We believe that as a business we have a responsibility to our consumers and to the communities in which we have a presence. Around the world, we invest in local economies and develop people’s skills inside and outside of Unilever. And through our business and brands, we run a range of programmes to promote hygiene, nutrition, empowerment and environmental awareness.”
