The ICMS Academy is our in house development arm operating to incorporate all areas of relevant training, learning and honing of knowledge and expertise in the context of grooming our Associates into excellent student leaders who are able to take on challenges, stand out in the career market and become the epitome of holism.
The ICMS Academy branches into different fields that are labelled as ‘hubs’.
Each hub organises workshops and masterclasses that adds value to the knowledge of our Associates.
Serves to enhance personal as well as professional development of ICMS Associates. Through initiatives, the hub works towards increasing Associates’ confidence as well as enhancing Associates’ interview and presentation skills.
Promotes Associates’ understanding of the Consulting industry. On top of 101 workshops, Associates get to experience case studies. This year we aim to revamp our very own pro-bono consulting project.

Portfolio Management 101

The Investment and Banking Hub of ICMS organized Portfolio Management 101 as an initiative under ICMS Academy. The two-long hour seminar was conducted by Teoh Kok Lin, the founding fund manager of Singular Asset Management. 10 ICMS Associates participated in the dialogue. Mr. Teoh talked about the art of investing and shared his valuable experience over the years. He also spoke about the various ways in which investors can diversify their portfolio.
Adobe Illustrator Workshop

Adobe Illustrator Workshop took place on 24th and 25th of June. It was a collaboration with the ICMS Academy: Growth of Skills and Techniques and EOP. Participants basically learned the basic Adobe Illustrator and designing a poster for one of ICMS’ future events. It was a unique digital learning experience that combined real time presentation with live Q&A. The workshop was opened to everyone regardless of Chapters.

The Coding Workshop aims to help all Associates of ICMS to develop coding skills, which has been said to be one of the very pivotal skills in this technological era, promoting efficiency in all industries including the likes of robotic manufacturing (reduces labour cost and human error) and banking (improving user interface of website and facilitate data processing and simulation).
Personal Development Plan Workshop (Summer Leadership Camp)

Venue: Bukit Gambang Caribbean Bay Resort
This is a workshop offered to those outside of ICMS with the aim to let Associates to be more strategic in developing skills for employability, discover own working styles and identify own strengths and weaknesses. An online personality test was done to identify participants’ working style, participants were paired up with personalities that they are least likely to work well with, and role-play scenarios were included to simulate real working environment.
Are You In? - LinkedIn and CV Workshop

In collaboration with the External Outreach and Publicity Division (EOP), the Professional Career and Development Hub (PCD) under ICMS Academy had organised a LinkedIn and CV workshop named “Are You In?”
The workshop delivered virtually on Zoom was hosted by Ee Woon, PCB Hub Director of the 7th Council. It had featured Zhao Wang Teo, the Director of the Industry Sectors Hub (ISH) of the 6th Council.
Zhao Wang began by talking about how to sell yourself to recruiters (Personal Branding) and being self-aware of the value you bring (Your Strengths & Weaknesses). Moreover, he also stressed that LinkedIn, rather than being a digitalized CV, is a professional online community. Besides that, Zhao Wang talks about playing the long game by engaging thought leaders on LinkedIn to build your presence.

ICMS Finance club is a platform that allows associates to gain financial knowledge through an active learning approach. Associates will be gaining finance and investment knowledge through listening, sharing, and discussing the topics during the session. Amidst the first episode of our sharing session, the main focus is the discussion in regards to mutual fund investment. The section has covered the basic introduction of mutual fund investment, the methodology to track and compare the performance of mutual fund investment as well as the speakers’ experience on mutual investment which in turn conveyed insightful and deeper messages to all the participants about mutual investment.
