From the 12th to the 14th of May 2017, ICMS-NA sent several Associates as representatives to the Malaysia Midwest Games held at Michigan State University. This prestigious event is an annual sports carnival hosted by one of the Malaysian Student Associations from the Midwest region of the USA with support from the Ministry of Education (Malaysia) and Education Malaysia Chicago (EMC).
This 3-days sporting event which was hosted by different universities since the 1970s served the same goal; to bring together Malaysian students in North America and Canada through the spirit of sports. The games ranged from outdoor sports such as football, touch rugby, netball, basketball, and ultimate frisbee to indoor activities like chess, congkak, table tennis and electronic games.
The purpose of opening a booth at the Malaysia Midwest Games is to reach out to the numerous Malaysian students attending, illustrating the objectives of ICMS and the upcoming flagship events held in Malaysia and North America over the year.
